The Winter Solstice is a time of going within, honoring the dark time while welcoming in the return of the Sun.
🌚 It is the longest night of the year.
🌚 Bonfires were lit in ancient times to honor the fire gods and goddesses to ask for their help through the dark time of Winter.
🌚 Rituals were done honoring family, protecting the house, feasting and lighting candles to call in the light within the dark time.
🌚 It signals the time to go within to recreate who we are and allow in who we want to be with the turning of the new calendar year.
